Man is lame without God. We are not able to do anything without God. We can't pull ourselves out of the sinful pit. Some people see God as a judgmental being. Just as the nurse in this scripture, we had someone that "nursed" us unto salvation. These nurses only care for the soul and nothing more and prayed for the salvation of it.

Back in this time, a lame person couldn't work and had to fully depend on others for their care. Just in this time we have folks that are lame and are in need of care. We are quick to judge those that have fallen into tough times. A lot of people think the church is for the saints but it's actually a place of refuge. The last thing a person should think is that they'd be judged by those "church folks". As long a person is in the flesh there will always be a handicap. When people think of you a church goer, do they think they could be loved at your church?

Did you know it's better to not make a vow than to make one and not keep it? Just as in this time, the king inquired of a person that he cared about, this still happens today. God the king of all things inquires of the dead dogs, sinners, of this world and invites them in. As Mephibosheth had nothing to offer the king but he bowed before the king. He responded properly to the king, have you? Mephibosheth had nothing at all but when he went before the king, the king gave him everything. When you respond to the calling of God the King, He will give you everything that's His.

God loved us first. He wants to give you something that you can't even wrap your mind around. He is preparing a place just for you to live for eternity. All you have to do is accept His calling. Mephibosheth was lame but was feed by the goodness of the kings table continuously. We are just the same once we've been saved.

Mephibosheth asked the king why he cared anything for him. Jesus loves us just as the king but can offer so much more.
