Today Professor John Brewer, former Deputy Vice Chancellor of University of the West of Scotland, Visiting Professor at University of Suffolk and Chair of the Board of Trustees at the National Football Museum, helped me do a deep dive into the University sector.

We explored:

-          Is University the right route for everyone?

-          Are Universities honest enough with their prospective students?

-          Has the University sector become too big and is there sufficient focus around quality assurance?

-          Are foundation year offers the right thing for the students taking them?

-          What three things should a University do to retain its quality of service?

-          What three things should students do when considering what route to take after finishing school and whether to go to University or explore an alternative career route?
