John had a front row seat in the greatest event in all of human history: "The word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory" (John 1:14). John lived and walked with Jesus. He preserved that very unique view that he was so privileged to witness by putting it in writing for us.

One such instance was when John wrote this about Jesus: "Having loved his own who were in the world, he now showed them the full extent of his love" (John 13:1). This event in the life of Jesus with his disciples should fill us with awe and wonder. The majesty of Jesus and the depth of the love of God are joined together in this real-life account that we may never fully understand. We read. We wonder. We meditate. We bow in worship.
