On March 12, 2006, 4 U.S Soldiers stationed in Iraq committed a very horrific crime against a 14-year-old girl and her family. Abeer Al Janabi had her whole life ahead of her. She was timid but kind. Her and her family lived in a farmhouse near a U.S Military Checkpoint. The soldiers from the checkpoint would often harass Abeer and make her feel uncomfortable with their stares. They would even go as far as telling one another their plans on taking advantage of her. This story takes so many twists and turns, with many innocent lives taken. The road to bringing justice to the Al Janabi family is heartbreaking, but it also raises awareness to whistleblowers. The Army attempted to deal with the investigation and arrests under the radar, but the crimes came to light when another horrific tragedy took place.
