FREEDOM HOUSE AMBULANCE – THE FIRST RESPONDERS is the story of the country’s first trained paramedics, a small group of Black men and women from Pittsburgh’s inner city Hill District. The producer for WQED, Annette Banks, will discuss:
– How she started at WQED (the home of Mr. Rogers)
– Discovering Freedom House
– The biggest challenge
– A surprise from Paris and his “engaging” story
This doc is part of the Indie Short Film Series at Charlottesville’s Vinegar Hill Theatre, Saturday, 7/8 (link below).
Greg Harris retired as a Loudon County attorney and decided to write and direct a movie titled A LOOK IN THE REAR VIEW, which looks back at how a groom got to his wedding. He and his wife Julie discuss:
– Their backgrounds
– How they decided to produce a movie with no experience
– Assembling the crew and actors online
– The challenges and surprises
– Getting Randy Edleman to write the music
– Their plans for getting it seen
