As a Latina and podcaster, with a microphone and voice…. I simply could not stay silent. One must understand the concept and meaning of placing yourself in someone’s shoes. This #rawtalk is present with #blacklivesmatter.
I, Ms. D, am grateful for my guest, Amyr, whom some of you know as “Big Sis”, agreeing to join me in a conversation as we mourn the death/murder of George Floyd and the people are choosing to “speak” in their own right. Please understand that in having a platform, it does not guarantee a change will happen tomorrow. Worse that this episode will cause such an impact… Or maybe it will. In my humble right, Let’s Talk About it!
Tune in… Amyr and I discuss this horrific murder, we dive into the importance of #Latinos #Latinas #Latinx involvement and support in #blacklivesmatter . We highlight our observations and opinions regarding our communities support and lack thereof, the use of the “N” word, police brutality, today’s protests/riots. We discuss our history relevant to our roots, and dig deep into our own social responsibilities of what we can do to make our own change. We get tremendously personal during this conversation regarding our experiences & welcome you to join this conversation. *Please excuse the minor technical difficulties*
If you need anyone to speak with or simply express yourself with, please feel free to reach out.
