Our consumerism has become the driving force in how we live our lives. We live for the bargains and not for a quality of life. We have begun to measure the quality of our lives in terms of how much we have versus how deep our relationships are with others.
In the story of Elijah and Elisha in the Bible, we learn about a deep relationship and what it means to have a "double portion." While we may look for a BOGO at a retail outlet, we may learn something in seeking a double portion of spirit.
