A Double Portion of God's Love

There are moments in life when our hearts feel dry, weary, and in need of more than just a little hope. In 2 Kings 2:9, Elisha boldly asked Elijah for a double portion of his spirit. It wasn't a selfish request—it was a desperate desire to carry forward God's power and presence in greater measure. Sometimes, that's what we need too: a double portion of God's love to carry us through pain, uncertainty, or deep sorrow.

God's love isn't limited or measured out sparingly. Romans 5:5 reminds us, "God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit." He doesn't give us drops of love—He pours. And when we feel like we can't go on, He gives even more. A double portion for the brokenhearted. A double portion for the weary. A double portion for you.

If you're feeling empty today, ask Him for more. He delights in giving good gifts to His children. Rest in His arms. Let His love wrap around your soul like a warm blanket on a cold night.

You are not forgotten. You are not alone. He sees you—and He's already pouring out that double portion. Let it in.
