Frederick & Catherine spent their last evening together in a hotel in Milano, eating a sumptuous meal, drinking wine, & trying to make plans to stay in touch with each other as the young lieutenant is just about to board the train that will take him back to his former comrades whatever else awaits him in Gorizia.
