A Fast Fights A Famine
Speaker: Rev. Patrick Kelley
Originally Recorded: Jan 14, 2018
Amos 8:11
"Behold, the days are coming," declares the Lord God, "when I will send a famine on the land— not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord.
Our response affects our hearing!
1 Corinthians 4:20
For the kingdom of God does not consist in talk but in power.
James 1:22-25
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.
Big Idea:
If we choose to be disobedient to what
God is saying, we are choosing to
have a famine of hearing
Humbling ourselves is always the right answer!
There is always a turn around moment with God.
