"The reason birds can fly and we can't is simply because they have perfect faith, for to have faith is to have wings." -J. M. Barrie
I have gleaned a few bits of wisdom:
1) Confidence that a thing will work sometimes helps it work.
2) Charisma + Confidence, without anything else, can drive people to do anything a speaker wants.
3) We can't let down our intellectual guard just because someone makes good and insightful points. Probably all national-scale awful men do.
4) One of man's most noticeable weaknesses is an inability to evaluate relative amounts of stuff. Light, risk, importance.
"The most dangerous man to any government is the man who is able to think things out for himself, without regard to the prevailing superstitions and taboos. Almost inevitably he comes to the conclusion that the government he lives under is dishonest, insane and intolerable, and so, if he is romantic, he tries to change it." -H. L. Mencken
