The History and Legacy of “Mystery Science Theater 3000”, continues its final chapter: The Next Generation!
We're starting our deep dive into Season 12 of MST3K a.k.a. The Gauntlet a.k.a. the final episodes ever* a.k.a. the end of this podcast as we know it a.k.a. it goes on like that.
And this week, it's the stellar first three episodes of this micro-season of television. Three movies that are each in their own ways crummy versions of other, much better movies (one of which wasn't even that good to start with: "Mac and Me" (complete with a Reverse Detour through "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial"), "Atlantic Rim", and "Lords of the Deep". All of these movies also deal with aliens (some Innerspace, some of the Outer variety), but I just put that together as I typed this intro.
Plus, another installment of the Coolness Chronicles Community Outreach guest-starring Lauren from Beer'd Al. Together we talk about her awesome podcast, Mel Brooks' 1974 film "Blazing Saddles", and the fine art of adding farts to movies that desperately need them.
