Guest Bio -

The best way to be resilient is to pour into others.  People often miss the fact that doing for others IS the key to maintaining joy, connection, and a sense of belonging.  Finding ways to give back has always been important to Pam and Batia.

For Batia’s entire life, Pam has modeled a give back attitude.  Although Pam has a full-time career, (she owns a hospitality consulting firm) she has always found time to volunteer in Batia’s classroom, on her sports teams and been on various Boards of philanthropic organizations, including AVP First, that concentrate on kids and sports.

At 10 years old, Batia organized a BEACH WALK for Kids in Sports (an organization Pam was on the Board of) and raised several thousand dollars for the charity.

Since 2019, Pam and Batia have been part of RiceBowls, (ricebowls.org) an organization that commits to feeding orphans around the world.  They travel to Honduras each summer for a week to serve the orphans at Good Shepherd's Children’s Home.

Batia plays beach volleyball for the University of Oregon and this past year served on the Executive Committee of the Student Athletic Advisory Council and was a member of O Heroes which organizes the give back elements to the community from UO Athletes.  She also volunteers for AVP First.
