Text: 1 Peter 3:1-6

The Bible makes it clear that there is an authority structure within the marriage relationship that is inherent to marriage itself and not the result of the fall nor is it negated by the gospel.  Both the husband and the wife have a unique role to play within the marriage relationship.  In a perfect world there would be absolutely no tension between these two roles of service.  But we do not live in a perfect world.  Peter calls on wives to give their husbands a gift of grace by conducting themselves in manner that draws disobedient husbands to the throne of grace.
