The unusual show of unity between Democrats and Republicans in supporting a $40 Billion Ukrainian aid package could be interpreted as a first move on the part of Republican leadership toward the purging of Trump and the weaning of the radicalized republican base from his emotional grip.  But the republicans will have to play the remaining cards in their hand very skillfully to pull it off.  And the odds are still against them.  But that's why they play the games.
