One of the greatest promises we receive from God is the ability to clear our conscience from our human failings and limitations. The reason is obvious when we think about it... it is almost impossible to serve God when we are guilty or worthless. Thus, God reinforces the fact that he is greater than our conscience and he motivates us towards greater and more effective service.
