In the ongoing series this week, today’s focus is the heart of a good-hearted mother. Scripture makes it clear that the heart matters deeply to God—the word heart appears hundreds of times throughout the Bible. When a mother’s heart is aligned with Him, her influence can shape generations.

The Bible presents mothers as spiritual pillars who pass down a legacy of faith. In Second Epistle to Timothy 1:5, Paul speaks of the sincere faith that lived first in Lois and Eunice before it lived in Timothy. Their example reminds us that faith is not only taught in church—it is cultivated at home. A mother’s prayers, instruction, and daily example leave lasting marks on her children and grandchildren.

Book of Proverbs 31 paints a powerful picture of a godly woman. She is clothed with strength and dignity. She speaks with wisdom and kindness. She watches over her household and does not live in idleness. Her children rise and call her blessed. This is not a portrait of weakness, but of purposeful leadership within the home. She serves not because she must, but because her heart is devoted to God and her family.

Scripture also encourages unity and mentorship among women. In Epistle to Titus 2:3–5, older women are urged to teach and guide younger women in loving their husbands and children and living godly lives. This creates a shared mission—mothers united in raising children with wisdom, discipline, and faith.

Finally, Epistle to the Philippians 2 calls believers to be like-minded, acting without selfish ambition, and looking to the interests of others. A good-hearted mother reflects this spirit by creating a peaceful refuge in her home—a place where faith is modeled, love is practiced, and Christ is honored.

A good-hearted mother is not perfect, but she is intentional. She understands that raising children is more than daily tasks—it is stewardship. And when her heart is aligned with God, her legacy will outlive her.
