Series: The Book of Ephesians-- Sermon Questions – 12/20/2015

“A Great Gift”

1. Read Ephesians 3:1-6. What is the mystery? Why is Jesus able to break down walls between Jews and Gentiles or any two hostile parties?

2. Read Ephesians 3:7-9. What is Paul’s commission? Why is he the least deserving of all the saints to be given this commission? What does this tell you about God and how He operates?

3. Read John 3:22-30. Why was John not offended that the crowds were following Jesus? (I.e., note v. 27 in particular.) What does this tell you about what you have in your life? What is the believer’s goal in life? (See v. 30.) Is this your goal?

4. Read Ephesians 3:10-11. What is Paul saying in these verses? (See also 1 Peter 1:12.) What amazes the angelic realm with respect to us and our relationship with God?

5. Read Ephesians 3:12. What is Jesus’ great gift to us? Why would the Jews of 2000 years ago have been scandalized by what Paul says here? (See also Hebrews 10:19-22.) Do you really appreciate this gift Jesus gave us?
