I explored spirit-filled streets of Tokyo, using photo mode to capture the terrifying beauty of Rainwalkers and fire-hurling paper dolls trapped in a helpless loop.
After performing a stealthy core extraction on a distracted demon, I grappled to a rooftop to witness the hauntingly magnificent red moon.
When I was exploring around the Tokyo street in Ghostwire, the atmosphere was thick with a supernatural fog that made every neon light look blurred and ghostly. Suddenly, I reached this street that was filled with various demons lurking in the shadows.
I stopped there to try some night photography, as the lighting was perfect for capturing the horror of the Visitors. You can see how the Rainwalker was coming close to me, its tall, slender frame casting a long shadow on the wet pavement.
If you watch the gameplay video, you would see the Rainwalkers were walking towards me and then backing up in an unnatural motion. While this was happening, the fireballs of the paper doll were also trying to get towards me, illuminating the dark alleyway with a flickering orange glow.
However, they just could not reach me because they were stuck in a loop while I was in the photo mode. It created a strange, frozen moment of chaos where the deadly projectiles were suspended in mid-air right before my eyes.
I really liked watching them like this, seeing them completely helpless as they were not able to do anything to me even though I was standing this close to them.
It felt empowering to be the observer of such danger without the risk of being harmed. This specific part of the video should look like a motion gameplay sequence.
After clearing that state and returning to the real-time flow of the game, I went ahead and noticed a lone Rainwalker was knocking on a door as if trying to get inside a residence.
I moved with great care, crouching low to stay out of its vision. I went close to him and I destroyed his core quietly, reaching into his chest to pull out the spiritual essence. I did not give him a single chance to react or alert the other spirits nearby.
Then I noticed there was this tengu on top of a building far above the street level. I used it as a grappling hook to get to the roof first, feeling the rush of wind as I was pulled upward.
After getting on top of the roof, I stopped there just to check on the haunting red moon as it looked awesome against the dark sky. I stood at the edge of the building for sometime, simply taking in the view before planning my next move through the haunted metropolis.
