A Hearing Heart Requires Faithfulness
1 Kings 2:1-12
“...so be strong…”
Be strong in the Lord. Empty yourself of your strength so God can come in with His strength
2 Corinthians 12: 9-10
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
Galatians 6:9
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
“... act like a man…”
God is calling you to have courage. Courage isn’t the absence of fear. Courage is moving forward in the face of fear!
God is calling you to live in confidence. This confidence isn’t in yourself, but in the Holy Spirit, who is always with you - always helping you.
“... walk in obedience to God and keep his decrees and commands his laws and regulations as written in the law of Moses…”
“... if your descendants watch how they live, and if they walk faithfully before me with all their heart and soul, you will never fail to have a successor on the throne of Israel… ”
Matthew 22:35-40
One of them, an expert in the law, tested Jesus with this question: “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
Ruthlessly eliminate troublemakers from your life.
What is causing trouble in your life?
Things that cause trouble in our lives are the things that distract us from God’s love and his work in our lives.
God wants you to take extreme measures to remove whatever causes trouble in your relationship with him.
Surround yourself with faithful people.
Find people who inspire you. Who helps you love God more?
No matter how much of your heart God has, he wants more. Every single one of us need more of God’s love in our lives.
