Sermon outline: Background: ​ King David, Bathsheba, and ​the prophet Nathan ​(2 Samuel 11:1 -12:15) 1. Go to God for forgiveness, approaching Him on the basis of His mercy (vv1-2) 2. Own the sinfulness of your sin (vv3-6) 3. Believe, and ask for, God's forgiving and transforming grace (vv6-12) - Ask God to teach you integrity (v6)​ - Ask God to wash you completely clean (v7)​ - Ask God to restore your joy (v8)​ - Ask God to delete your sin record (v9)​ - Ask God to give you a pure and steadfast heart (v10) - Ask God for a restored relationship, and for Him to continue to work through you (v11)​ - Ask God for a love for Him that flows into a life that honours Him (v12) 4. Respond to God's grace from the heart (vv13-17)​ 5. Aim for a God-honouring future, dependant on God's blessing (vv18-19)
