Podcast Devotion: "A Heart That Desires God's Will"
Welcome to today’s devotion. Let’s begin with a few questions:
James 4:13-15 warns:
"Come now, you who say, ‘Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit’—yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, ‘If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.’"
Reflection:
James isn’t teaching us to say the right words but to have the right heart. True surrender means not just accepting God's will but wanting it, trusting that His plan is always better. Proverbs 16:9 reminds us, “The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.”
Application:
We don’t just need a change in speech—we need a change in heart. Instead of asking God to approve our plans, we should ask Him to align our desires with His.
Closing Prayer:
Father, change my heart so I don’t just say I want Your will but truly desire it. Help me trust You completely and seek Your wisdom in all things. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Thanks for listening. Walk in trust today, and seek God’s will above your own.
