The San Marcos Housing Needs Assessment was not shy in its criticism of the current supply of housing stock in the city.
San Marcos has a shortage of “missing middle” products, which often serve as a gateway to homeownership for residents. Contributing to this shortage is the difficulty in developing such units in residential neighborhoods in San Marcos due to zoning code barriers, according to the report.
This week on the San Marcos Scoop, Exsar sat with Gloria Salazar, Laura Dupont and Abby Gillfillan, three women who have worked tirelessly to address the housing crisis in San Marcos.
Together, the group discussed how the city is currently lacking diverse housing options for its residents.
