Just when you thought the news couldn't get any bigger, hurricane force winds devastated parts of the midwest. A rare derecho storm ripped up trees, damaged buildings, and damaged enough crops to be able to see from space. Hundreds of thousands of Iowans were without power and some neighborhoods in Cedar Rapids may not get it back for weeks.
