In Revelation chapter 7, we see a pause in the dramatic judgments seen in chapter 6, offering a comforting look at God's people during a time of great trouble. First, it describes a special group of 144,000 people from the twelve tribes of Israel who are "sealed" by an angel on their foreheads. This seal signifies that they belong to God and are protected, likely for a special mission of sharing God's message with others during this difficult period. It shows that even amidst worldwide judgments, God remembers and protects His chosen ones.
Secondly, the chapter then shows a huge crowd that no one can count. This "great multitude" comes from every nation, tribe, people, and language, standing before God's throne and the Lamb (Jesus). They are dressed in white robes, which means they have been made clean and righteous through the blood of Jesus. This part of the chapter emphasizes that salvation is for everyone who believes, regardless of their background, and that even during immense suffering on Earth, a great number of people will turn to God and be saved. They are shown worshiping God, free from hunger, thirst, and pain, with God Himself wiping away their tears, promising a future of perfect comfort and joy in His presence.
