A Joy No One Can Take Away

“But let all who take refuge in You be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread Your protection over them, that those who love Your name may rejoice in You.” – Psalm 5:11.

The joy of this world is temporary. It comes with a like, a compliment, an achievement — and disappears at the first sign of loneliness. But there’s a kind of joy that doesn’t depend on what happens around you or what people think of you. It’s the joy that comes from trusting in God.

The psalmist says, “Let all who trust in You rejoice.” That means when you put your life in God’s hands, you gain a kind of security the world can’t offer. God defends you, surrounds you with His favor, and even when everything seems to fall apart, there’s peace inside you.

Think about it for a moment: who have you really been trusting lately? Maybe you’ve been chasing happiness in things that only leave you emptier — shallow relationships, social media validation, status, temporary pleasures. But that kind of joy always runs out. It dries up fast, and the emptiness returns, even deeper than before.

True Christians rejoice in God. Not just for what He does, but for who He is. They find delight in knowing His character, in seeing His care in the small things, and in realizing that their Father never abandons them — even when they fail.

That’s the difference between living by emotions and living by faith. The joy that comes from God doesn’t change when life changes. It’s a river flowing from within, because the Holy Spirit lives there.

Today, God is calling you to experience that kind of real joy. He wants to be your defender, your strength, and your reason to smile — even on the hard days.

If you feel like you’ve been searching for joy in the wrong places, stop right now and say:

“Lord, I want to rejoice in You. Teach me to trust Your care and live in the peace only You can give.”

Don’t postpone this decision. Real joy begins the moment you give Jesus control of your life.
