A Historic Moment for Hope Church Sittingbourne

After seven years of faithfully growing together as a church family in Sittingbourne, this video captures a truly historic milestone in the life of Hope Church — the recognition and appointment of our very first eldership team.

On this significant day, we had the joy of appointing Gordon, Emmanuel, and Adam as elders, alongside the faithful support of their wives Natalie, Adesola, and Lizzie. These men aren’t just leaders — they are friends, brothers, and fellow pioneers who have walked the journey of everyday faith with our church family.

We were blessed to be joined by members from at least 12 different churches, including our friends at Faversham Community Church and Good News Church Sheppey, as well as church leaders from across the region.

The service was led by Adam Voke (Cornerstone City Church, Medway), and the preach was brought by Stef Liston (Relational Mission), who shared powerfully on the heart of eldership and what it means to be a church led by shepherds who love and serve well.

The laying on of hands, prayers, and prophetic encouragements from leaders and friends alike marked this moment with deep spiritual significance — followed by food, fellowship, and joyful celebration as we gave thanks for all God has done over the past seven years, and looked forward in faith for all He has yet to do.

We are so thankful for every person who has stood with us, encouraged us, prayed for us, and believed in God’s mission here in Sittingbourne. This is only the beginning.
