As we begin a new series on parenting and family, we are reminded of the importance of stewarding the mandates given to us by our loving God. We have been given a legacy in Jesus through our adoption as sons and daughters. We reflect this legacy as we honor the covenants that are made with us (to God, through marriage, to each other, etc.), and we multiply this legacy as we share the love of Christ, not only with our direct families, but with one another as the larger family of God. The path is painful, and the cost is often great, but we press forward, empowered by God to leave a legacy centered around Jesus, the one who truly gives life to us as a family.
