Essex resident Jenifer Grant has spent a lifetime helping the people of Haiti. Her mother and stepfather founded Hospital Albert Schweitzer in Haiti over 50 years ago. The facility was undamaged in the devastating earthquake and is treating an unprecedented number of patients injured in the quake. Kathleen Maher, also of Essex, has traveled to Haiti four times over the last year and a half to help Grant in her support of the hospital.
