Therapeutic Brass Tacks with Bruyère

A Lifetime to Try and Forget

Listen Later

This is a poem written and read by writer Heather Angelika Dooley. This is a piece about first, young love where the two lovers tried to come back and resurrect their love for each other years later when real life had unfolded. It did not turn out to be as easy as they expected after a short journey of reliving their past, but this writing work tells the story of how it felt so in the moment, and then the hindsight and reflection of how it felt later. It is about two past ginormous loves reuniting in remembrance of when life was easier, but it did not stay easy and this is what was written as an afterthought of what it could have been if it had actually been that, but it wasn't after twelve years that were more real than the three days they recalled being sixteen again.
