Welcome to the first Sunday of Advent, and the beginning of a new series: Behind Christmas. This week's talk is on Isaiah 9:2, 6-7.
No matter what you want to do in a room, you have to first turn on the light, or you can’t see to do anything else. These verses call the world “dark,” which is ignorance and evil. No “good will” or “Christmas spirit” can change that. Only the light of Christ. Christ’s light dawning brings life, truth, and beauty. Christ’s light shows the world as it really is, and He also shows the way out of darkness—through faith in Him.
