Today we’re not going to talk about growing your business on social media. I really struggled with whether to talk about this big thing that has been affecting all of us. For me not to talk about what’s happened in the USA and the world over the last couple of weeks would be for me not to recognize and identify who I am.
And so, we are going to take a pause from talking about all things network marketing and all things social media and talk about what happened with George Floyd and most importantly the results and effect of what has been happening.
When I heard what happened, after I dealt with the sadness, my phone and DMs were all blowing up with all the people in my life checking up on me. At first, I didn’t want to talk about it, because well, it’s really exhausting. Discrimination and racism is something I‘ve dealt with all my life.
We have a family Zoom call every Sunday and the topic came up. We asked my teenage nephew about his thoughts about George Floyd. His answer, ripped me to the core, and more importantly it stirred me out of my numb state. I woke up to the sense that right now there is a glimmer of hope that maybe things can be better for my nephew.
What do you do when you’re going through hard times?
I lean on my family and friends.
Because of the way I am and how I was raised, I have a diverse group of friends. And so I realized my superpower in this moment is to share some of my friends with you to talk about their experiences. I hope you’ll take a listen with an open heart and open mind and I would love to know your thoughts on this podcast.
Please note:
This is not a political issue…it’s about humankind.
I let my friends talk in a safe space. I also let them speak their truth and opinions unfiltered and unedited. And so the rating is adult.
