Brief personal background:
An admirer of music since early childhood, an instrumentalist, writer, once hobbyist level, active party/backyard boogie DJ (vinyl/analog) who came of age watching the evolution of West Coast Hip-Hop form mainly from the sidelines as a spectator. 
Intent:
From the mindful perspective of someone with a fan-first mentality who opted to take another route, but has always admired music and musicians.
