Born in Oxford, Mississippi,Patricia witnessed the last days of segregation at Central High School,graduating in 1969. Her passion for music, sparked by her high school musicteacher, Clarence Johnson, led her to pursue a career in music education. 

Patricia's journey took her to the University of Mississippi, where she became the firstAfrican-American to graduate with a degree in music education. For 40 years,she dedicated herself to teaching in Shreveport, Louisiana, and serving asMinister of Music at Lane Chapel CME church, in Shreveport, touching countlesslives through her love of music. 

In this episode, Patricia shares poignant memories of growing up during a tumultuous time inhistory, her experiences teaching and working in music ministry, and theunexpected path that led her to open a charming bed and breakfast in herhometown.
