The award winning historian Antonia Fraser talks to Rosie Boycott about her childhood, speed reading and growing up the eldest of eight children.

Her father was the exquisitely eccentric Frank Pakenham, 7th Earl of Longford, the British politician and social reformer who was once beaten up by thugs at a meeting addressed by Sir Oswald Mosley - and her mother the historian Elizabeth Harman.
