The book of Esther invites us to grapple with God’s hiddenness in the world. Is our survival and success up to us or is God hiding behind the scenes? Are those in power seriously dangerous or laughable? How much of our identity do we feel like we need to conceal to fit in? What do we do when our success comes at the cost of an injustice to someone else?
