Good morning and welcome to the Oblate time of prayer and reflection today by Joe O'Connell, a member of the Friends of Saint Eugene in Crewe.
Welcome to our reflection today.
I'm Joseph O’Connell from the Friends of Saint Eugene in Crewe.
In a world where fame is sought and pursued, where might is right, where people are regarded
as just dispensable, where greed is seen as a virtue - we are reminded in Matthew's Gospel today, 5 13-16 that we are “the salt of the earth”, we are “the city on a hill”.
We are meant to be a light in a dark world.
Most important thing to remember today, I believe, is that we are called to be children of God.
And we can celebrate that every single day.
Glory be to the father, and to the son, and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end.
Amen. Thank you for joining us.
