In this sermon we will take a look a quick look at what the darkness of life without Jesus looks like. We do this so we can see exactly what Jesus overcame by His death and resurrection. We realize that He didn't do it for nothing. He did it for us. And what He did on Easter morning means that, because of Jesus, today is a new dawn.

With that dawn is a brand new promise! There's a good reason why Matthew's gospel only mentions Mary Magdalene and the other Mary. What they represent shows us who Jesus' resurrection is meant to impact and to whom the new promise belongs. Along with the new promise there is a new hope. Hope isn't something you can keep to yourself. It is something that can be given. It is light in the darkness. It is the kind of infection you want the world to have.

New dawn, new promise, and new hope leads to new purpose. In Jesus Christ purpose isn't doing stuff. It isn't saving ourselves or saving the world. Purpose is much better than that. In this sermon you'll see how the resurrection of Jesus Christ can destroy the darkness in your life, change the order of your life, fill your life with meaning, and give you joy like you've never known.
