A New Horror Film That Is Definitely Worth Seeing | REVIEW

Listen Later

It's unfortunate that Salem's Lot, which was delivered straight to the streaming site Max, will suffer the same small-screen fate as its forebears given how masterfully made the movie is. Just the third act would make a fantastic IMAX show. For better or ill, I like the earlier iterations. Every one had a distinct personality, and Dauberman's contribution finds its footing by drawing on the elements that made King's literary characters so horrifying. It's true that I also enjoy this new version. Ben Mears, portrayed by Lewis Pullman, is a writer who goes back to Jerusalem's Lot, Maine, where he grew up, to conduct research for a new project. He starts dating Susan Norton, a young, impressionable twentysomething who lives in the town. Both praise and criticism are directed towards Mears's rise to fame as the new guy.
