In the aftermath of the final battle, Hogwarts has become a makeshift war hospital. Madam Pomfrey races to Hermione’s bedside when a sudden fever and labored breathing reveal a new threat: sepsis. Drawing on both potions and Muggle medicine, she fights to pull Hermione back from the brink as exhausted staff and volunteers tend to the wounded and count the dead. Later at Prince Manor, Poppy updates Severus and Harry on the staggering Auror losses, Lucius Malfoy’s escape, and Sirius Black’s official exoneration. Severus quietly fears Harry might choose Sirius now that he is free, but Poppy reminds him where Harry’s true home is. As Harry watches her Floo away, he reflects on the terrible cost of victory and silently vows that if Albus Dumbledore ever tries to harm his family again, he will be ready to fight back.
