The battle between Sega and Nintendo continues through much of the 90s, but in a weird twist of fate, Nintendo solved their Sega problem by helping to create a juggernaut in the console world, the Sony Playstation. By the turn of the century, the dust had cleared, and Sega was to be no more. Nintendo was battered and bruised and Sony was reigning supreme. Seeing an opening, Microsoft took a chance and created the now iconic Xbox. Nintendo wasn’t out, but it was going to let Microsoft and Sony go head to head while it played the long game.
