In recent years, inflation has been the most significant risk to the U.S. economy, but recently, unemployment has emerged as a new challenge.Just as inflation shows signs of cooling, the once robust job market is now flashing warning signals. The Federal Reserve (Fed) faces the risk of making a policy mistake by keeping interest rates high for an extended period.CNN reports that this is why some economists are urging the Fed to "ease up" in its fight against inflation. They argue that if the Fed goes too far, it could push the U.S. economy into a recession. "It's time to lower interest rates. Inflation is no longer the main concern. The risk is shifting towards the labor market," says Joe Brusuelas, Chief Economist at RSM.
