On the night before his death, Jesus promises his disciples, and us, the Holy Spirit - the advocate. Through the Holy Spirit we have new nearness with God, new permanence of His presence, new intimacy, and experience His transformative power. Because God makes His home in us we can surrender control, receive His peace and become more like Jesus.
