Your life was the farthest thing from normal. Especially considering that your boyfriend’s idea of a date is hanging out on top of the highest buildings in New York. Yes, much to your surprise, Peter Parker had turned out to be the infamous Spider-Man that you had seen all over the news and now, you’d been caught up in his vigilante type fiascos. Which, even though you’d never openly admit it, you didn’t mind one bit. After all, everybody needs a super-human hero in their life, right? He had caught you in the middle of your regular downtown walk, practically appearing out of nowhere, a shy grin playing on his features as he’d neared you, stuttering a question along the lines of, “You wanna do something, sometime?” or at least that’s how you’d interpreted it. You’d replied with an enthusiastic smile and a nod, Peter’s surprised, “Really?” causing your grin to widen even more, regardless of your confused thoughts as to how he knew exactly where to find you. Taking your hand in his and pulling you close, you both took off down the street, sprinting. And before you could even comprehend what exactly was going on, you found yourself clinging to him as the pair of you swung through the streets of New York, raising the attention of passersby's. And now, you’re sitting on some rooftop, side by side, legs dangling over the edge. “So?” You start with a chuckle, turning to face the person at your side with a grin. “Have you had a chance to read the first draft of my book yet?” Now it’s Peter’s turn to laugh, a teasing glimmer in his brown eyes. “It’s something.” Gasping in feigned offense, you swat him playfully. “You didn’t like it?” “I’m not gonna answer that!” “Fine, fine,” You huff, leaving Peter’s side along with the edge, settling yourself laying down on the roof, setting your jacket down beneath you to act as a cushion, gaze scanning the clouds. And soon enough, he’s back at your side again, laying down beside you with a soft sigh as he pulls you close, breath tickling your cheek. “I love you,” He murmurs, voice wavering slightly as your heart skips, suddenly aching for all your boyfriend’s been through - you know how much those three simple words truly mean to him and how hard it's been to move on. “I love you too, Peter.” Pressing a soft kiss to his cheek, you roll away from him for a moment, cuing up some soft music before returning to face him once more, hands intertwining and gazes wandering the blue sky above you, a mutual thankfulness for this moment between you both.
