RPGs are to TeamRatnado as platformers are to SqatCobblr. With a term so overused when applied to games, what is an RPG at its core? Do some games qualify that you wouldn't expect? We try to find out by giving some outlandish examples. Additionally we discuss why typical RPG elements might become cumbersome and how some series are abandoning them while others openly embrace them.
