I started and became a buyer my clothing company after getting several “No’s” to work as a buyer for major corporations.
I popped up in different cities including my home of Charlotte selling unique women's wear and accessories as I connected with and built relationships with like-minded women.
I did this while working full time with the goal to eventually own a brick and mortar and enjoy life as a boutique owner.
In 2023 my husband (Angel) and I were fortunate to get an opportunity to take over an existing boutique. We did away with my brand name and took on Roam & Dwell as our brand and transformed it to ourstyle and aesthetic. We also added in other facets to our brand including furniture and art work from local Charlotte Artists. Angel and I love being connectors and building relationships with other business owners. We started hosting events that were focused around fashion, art and design. This helped to increase our brand awareness and be a conduit at the same time.
We recently changed locations and most recently our brand name to A-part[meant]. This new name coincides with not just our objective of making clients feel welcome to be in the boutique, but also is inspired by our upbringing of being surrounded by and living in apartments which automatically gives a community feel.
Our boutique is a haven, where creatives, fashion and art enthusiasts and the like can feel like they’re meant to be part of the movement we’re making in Charlotte and beyond. It’s truly a one of a kind experience.
