The spring wet forest soundscape is interesting and rich. This time, the common snipes (Gallinago gallinago) play the leading role. Their voices are funny and memorable.

In April, the  northern lapwings (Vanellus vanellus) return. Their joyful flight and funny sounds can be heard in the spring fieldscape.

Black grouse males arrive at the traditional lekking site just after dawn. In the near-darkness, the roosters begin to hiss, followed shortly afterwards by the familiar bubbling call. One of the finest shows of the spring begins.
