A Period of Fasting Has Been Prescribed
Al Jumu'ah, or the day of gathering, comes the day before the Sabbath. In the eastern world, this day is a day of family communion just before entering into a day of rest. As we all are impacted by a deadly virus of mankind's creation of divisions amongst ourselves, thus a pestilence is upon our land. It is incumbent upon humanity that we repent and fast, not just from water and food, but from the evils of our hearts. As the scriptures confirm according to Matthew 16:24, if we are to become the greatest that resided in each one of us, we must first deny ourselves.
