In Romans 6:1-11, Paul reminds us that baptism follows the commitment to follow Jesus Christ and that it is a picture of our death to sin. Baptism is a picture of our relationship with Christ. Our old self is buried and our new self is born again. The emersion in water is symbolic of a burial of the old self. It shows the world that we belong to Jesus. Baptism is a picture of a new life committed to walk in the ways of Jesus Christ. If you are still unsure of whether to become baptized, remember this; your future resurrection with Jesus is assured if you truly commit your life to Him. Be a light to the world. Jesus Christ paid for your salvation. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved.
