You see to be a Pilgrim's friend is to be a friend of God because God was the first Pilgrim's friend of Adam. Adam once thought he had a home in the garden of Eden, but after sin there became a nature in man that wanted to get back with God so Man became by nature a pilgrim. As well by nature a sinner, who wanted to be as far from God as he possibly could be. But God's love was stronger than man's sin so that Pilgrim nature weeded through and said I want to be back with my Maker. Have you ever seen the power of a weed, you put on top of it rocks, concrete, turf, or wood; you name it.
But it find its way through to find the sun light to grow, there's a side of saved a man's nature that's similar. He go through hell and high water to get back to his Maker, and rightly so his Maker went through hell and high water to get to man also, now that's a true love story if you will. I hope as you live the role of a pilgrim here on Earth that you remember the story of the Samaritan; how he forgot himself and made great sacrifice to be his brother's keeper. Even as it appears, we have forgotten how to love one another, here in this country: but God can help, may we turn to Him for that help! "Love thy neighbor as thyself."
